Komugiko and Yakugashi by fredrin Komugiko and Yakugashi by fredrin
Just a throw away sorta drawing of Komugiko and Yakugashi, salvaged from screenshots of a sketch i lost when Photoshop crashed the other day (hard drive was going) which resulted in me doing a full system rebuild.  This was just part of a test of how CS5.5 was gonna work for me.  Not too bad. :)

I'm also glad you saved it Fred!  Awesome sketch.  VERY nice work on the clothing - very sophisticated technique.  Thanks for posting it for our enjoyment!

Yeah, I feel like I must've missed something huge along the way.  As it is, when Mugi (relatively) recently stepped into a bigger role in the story, I felt like it was treated like she'd been a main character all along and nothing was changing.  I've been operating under the assumption that I vaguely remember Mugi as a background character at the Cave of Evil and we're just getting introduced to her more thoroughly now.  The fact that she's got a daughter that I'm just now meeting and other people already know feels "like coming home from school to find a walrus sitting at the family dinner table and you're the only one who seems to notice", to quote Yahtzee.

Maybe I should go back to my books and start over, but this time I feel like what I missed lies outside the realm of the main comic.

Also, this is gorgeous for a "throw away" drawing, and Yakugashi is adorable.
