Komugiko and Yakugashi (color) by fredrin Komugiko and Yakugashi (color) by fredrin
On a bit of a lark, i decided to play with color brushes and whatnot in CS5 and see how some of those felt to use.  I dunno, i can't help but wonder if my approach to coloring just simply does not work.  Sure, nice and colored and stuff, but to me it feels really pedestrian.  But anyways, a color version is still nice, so here ya go

I know an artist has to be objective of what they see and want in their art, but they still have to enjoy what they've created, if they're to keep up their abilities :)

I really enjoy your hatching/coloring techniques, which has kept me a loyal reader of your comic for at least 5+ years :D

Looks great!

If you watch most artists here on DA, it takes something like 5 years to develop your technique.

I like it!

Well, it took him almost double that time, so there is that. Time well spent, I guess.

True that.

With practice, that time will diminish.  Within a years time of regular practice, I think he will be startled just how much "easier" it is.  ("Piece of Cake" level of experience only comes with no less than 3 years time. ..plus or minus..depending on savings throws... ;D  )

Cheers Arcanask!

Hang in there Fred!  We're rootin for ya!

Fred, one of the things I like to do every now and then is look back at your earlier MT work, and man while you were good back then, now you have such an awesome grasp on the human (furry and otherwise lol) body. I love all your work, but especially all the work you do in your MT universe.
